ABOUT US

Evan was born in Middlebury, Vermont. He attended Carnegie Mellon University, where he received his BFA in Lighting Design. Evan primarily works as a freelance Gaffer (Head Electrician) and Lighting Programmer for television. He has set up television studios all over the world, including Turkey, India, China, South Sudan, and the Sochi Olympics (upcoming: Rio Olympics). He has also programmed on Broadway and for the New York City Ballet. Evan is an avid baker and fly fisherman, and he recently received his private pilot's license.

Kate is from Richmond, Virginia. She graduated magna cum laude from the College of William & Mary with a double major in Theatre and English. She received her MFA in Design for Stage and Film from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Kate works as a Lighting Designer for dance, opera, and theatre. She is a proud member of United Scenic Artists Local 829, and has designed for the Public Theatre, Juilliard, Aspen Music Festival, and many more organizations both domestically and internationally. Kate loves to read and is a great sous chef for Evan.

Kate and Evan first met in the summer of 2011 at a picnic for the Ballet Theatre of Scranton, where they connected right away over mutual acquaintances at Bristol Riverside Theatre. They met again in Los Angeles in February of 2013, re-introduced by their mutual friend Kat West, and the rest is history!

Kate and Evan live in Astoria, where Evan proposed on September 5, 2015 (Kate's birthday) with a vintage ring from 1910. They love cooking (if you haven't tried their pizza, you're missing out), road trips, and murder mysteries, and are excited to celebrate their wedding with you!
