PIECE INFORMATION SURVEY

Hello everyone!

My name is Kate Ashton and I am the Lighting Designer for the Young Choreographer's Festival 2018 at Symphony Space. I'm really looking forward to working with all of you!

I am writing to request any technical information about your piece that you have.
I totally understand at this point you may not know the answers to any (or all!) of these questions - so just answer what you can.
Please fill in the survey below to provide your technical information.
Please take the survey by Tuesday, May 28, 2019.

A few things to keep in mind as you create your pieces:
BACKGROUND: The background for all pieces will be black.
CROSSOVER: There is a crossover available upstage of the black background. Please note that the email is INCORRECT and we can confirm that there IS a crossover.
LIGHTING: Please feel free to let me know if you have special lighting requests. These can be as simple as, "My piece feels red!" or more complicated, such as suggesting cues or looks. If you don't have any ideas, not to worry! I can take care of everything for you if you prefer.
In terms of lighting, because of time, we are limited to the repertory light plot; however, if you have special needs, please let me know and we will try to accommodate you.
Additionally, we are trying to limit and simplify lighting cues because the tech time is so short.
So please, when you are thinking of any lighting ideas and cues, keep this in mind.

Please describe the way the piece ends. Are dancers on or offstage? Does the piece finish with the end of the music? Does music need to fade? Do lights fade slowly or quickly?

All changes must be communicated at least 48 hours in advance of your technical rehearsal. The implementation of information received after that time is at the discretion of the lighting designer and stage manager.
